NCAA tourney Day 3 - late thoughts

Here are some closing thoughts as this Saturday is winding down:
- Oh how I wish I could have watched Washington State take apart Notre Dame. That is an impressive win. Notre Dame can ball it.
- Marquette deserved a better fate than they got against Stanford. Lopez’ last second baseline leaner was a lucky shot. […]

NCAA tourney Day 3 - early thoughts (UPDATED)…

Saturday afternoon here at Tournament Central…here are some thoughts as we go throughout the day.
- Duke is overrated. Period. End of story. You simply cannot afford to rely on 3s as much as Duke does. When they are going in, they are fine. But when they struggle from behind the arc, they are in big-time […]

NCAA tourney Day 2 - more thoughts…

Oh how I wish I was living back in Orlando - I could have driven one hour south down to Tampa and been a part of Upset Central. Here are some thoughts as Day 2 of the NCAA tournament draws to a close:

NCAA tourney Day 2 - early thoughts

As I sit here and watch San Diego try to upset Connecticut in overtime, I figured it was time for some thoughts about the Day 2 action so far:

NCAA tourney Day 1 - late thoughts

The clock has struck 9:00pm (MST) here at Tournament Central. Here are my additional thoughts about Day 1:
- If anybody thinks that Duke can make a serious run through this tournament, they had better think again.
- In case you hadn’t heard, Michael Beasley is an absolute beast.
- Stanford’s Twin Towers (Brook & Robin Lopez) […]

NCAA tourney Day 1 - early thoughts

It is 3:45pm here at Tournament Central, and I figured I would give some early thoughts on Day 1 of the NCAA tournament before the night session started:
- The true Cinderella story of the tournament, Georgia, is heading home, which is a shame. I thought the Bulldogs were peaking at the right time and could […]

NCAA tournament brackets - my first impressions

As we gear up for the NCAA tournament, the bracket announcement show is always a great event.
As I watch the brackets roll out on ESPN, (I’d watch CBS but I cannot stand Billy Packer and Jim Nantz) here are my gut feelings and thoughts as the matchups are announced:
East Region
- If you look in […]

Severe weather gives new meaning to March Madness

The SEC tournament in Atlanta was thrown into chaos on Friday night when a severe storm rolled through downtown Atlanta and damaged the Georgia Dome. The storm caused two big holes in the Georgia Dome roof and ripped off some of arena siding. No injuries were reported at the Georgia Dome.
The last game of […]
